We made it!
This week 8th graders will be busy with exit interviews. 6th and 7th grade will finish and turn in their games that they have been designing and programming. Then, they will get to play each other's games!
This has been and EXCELLENT year! Let's have an even better summer! I look forward to seeing the 6th and 7th graders in the fall, and GOOD LUCK to the 8th graders!
This week I bid farewell to the 8th graders! Have a great summer and good luck next year in high school! 8th graders will finish programming their game for their final project. 7th graders will continue working on their game. 6th graders will finish their programmed animation and start on creating a game! Next week we get to play the games! It should be a great week!
This week we will write our final letters to Ghana and design and program our own video games! Sixth grade will also program an animation to their own story.
This week, students will write their last letters to Ghana and start an entire unit on programming! It should be fun!
This week 6th graders will be creating and editing videos on recycling and their classmates. 7th graders will be exploring each other's websites, and 8th graders will be evaluating education systems around the world and comparing it to their own. They will then create a presentation on the value of education.
This week, 7th and 8th graders will be completing their websites. 6th graders will be creating and editing a video for some of our classmates!
March 27 - 31
This week all students will read their penpal letters from Ghana, respond, and make gifts. Later in the week, 7th and 8th graders will arrange their websites, and 6th graders will start learning block programming.
March 13 - 16
As the quarter sums up this week, students will complete their infographics and any other work that is incomplete with use of an Oops pass. I really hope to see parents and guardians this week at conferences Tuesday and Thursday, starting at 4:30 in the cafetorium. Let's have a great week before break!
This week, 6th graders will be working on their alternative energy infographics. 7th and 8th graders will be finishing coding their "Details" page of their global issues website, then begin researching solutions. Let's have a good one!
February 27-March 3
This week,7th and 8th grade students will dive into HTML programming, speak to their online pen pals, and continue their article reviews. 6th graders will complete their carbon cycle diagrams on Google draw, and begin graphing on Google spreadsheet!
7th and 8th graders will continue their article reviews and take quiz # 2. 6th graders will begin learning the basics of Google spreadsheet while learning about air pollution.
I am so excited that all classes will write their first letters to their new pen pals in Ghana, Africa. 7th and 8th graders will continue learning about different social issues and select an issue to research for their websites starting next week. 6th graders will give their trash presentations and work to create a video about helping fellow classmates.
January 30- February 3
I'm so excited to announce that this week all classes will begin a pen-pal program with students in Accra, Ghana. This will be hand written. We will move through the technology time scale and start an online pen-pal program in a few weeks.
7th and 8th graders will also begin article review and document sharing. 6th graders will create a presentation on landfills. All classes will have a quiz mid week on basic formatting.
This week, 7th and 8th graders will get to examine the similarities and differences of people around the world, as well as look at human population and factors influencing the population. 6th graders will be learning about landfills and plasitc.
This week, 7th and 8th graders will finish their formatting practice and start global issues. There will be a quiz at the end of the week on formatting. 6th graders will start learning about sustainability!
First week was great (besides being extraordinarily cold)! This week, we will go over internet safety and more classroom procedures with all classes. The class syllabus is due Thursday/Friday and is the first grade in the grade book, so please make sure to sign this and turn it in!

This week everyone will be finishing their websites! 7th and 8th graders can expect ot have a short recap on HTML programming! We're almost there!
November 28 - December 2
I hope your break was awesome! This week, 6th graders will finish the documentary "Chasing Ice," perform retakes of their "My Medicine" videos, and start their personal websites. 7th and 8th graders will start their websites as well. Let's power through the next three weeks! They will be great!
This week 6th graders will begin brainstorming and filing their "medicine" videos for their websites. 7th and 8th graders will create an "Aspirations" presentation to incorporate in their Google website (which we will start after break). They will also finish their personal story.
November 7 - 11
This week 6th graders will finish and present their Google drawings of their inventions. 7th and 8th graders will present their technology career presentations and begin planning for their personal Google Site.
October 31- November 4

This week 6th, 7th, and 8th graders have a spreadsheet quiz. 6th graders will create implementation plans for their alternative energy source. 7th and 8th graders will begin creating their technology career presentations.
October 24- 27
This week, 6th graders will use Google spreadsheet to show data on energy use and cost, and explore alternative energy sources. 7th and 8th graders will have their final video conference and present their infographics. I look forward to seeing you all at parent-teacher conferences this week!
This week 6th graders will be creating graphs and practicing their google spreadsheet skills learned last week. 7th and 8th graders will continue creating their infographics.
October 10- 14
This week 6th graders will learn more about the basic functions of google spreadsheet while evaluating the supply and demand of different energy sources. 7th and 8th graders will begin video conferencing and creating visuals (infographics) that show potential solutions to the problems discussed in their research papers.
October 3- 7
This week 6th graders will be learning all about spreadsheet while analyzing climate data. 7th and 8th graders will revise and edit their research paper rough drafts, and end the week reading their classmates' papers to learn about different global issues.
This week 6th graders will record their final takes of their persuasive videos, watch other classes videos, and create their own at home plan for either recycling, reducing, re-using, or composting. 7th and 8th graders will finish their outlines for their research papers and begin writing their papers.
6th - We will be creating our persuasive video and slideshow on reducing waste!
7th and 8th- We will continue our research on Global issues and create an outline for our collaborative research papers.
